History

The CS Games were created in 2003 by a group of McGill University students. The idea emerged from the lack of collegial competitions in the computer science field of study. The first CS Games were hosted at McGill and had a dozen of 3 hours academic and social competitions.

Seeing the interest and success of that first year, the experience was repeated the following year (2004). After the second year, seeing the growth of the event and interest through the universities, it was decided that any University could host the event. Therefore, every year a different university is chosen to host the CS Games event.
